How to support the training of priests for our diocese
James Carron

James Carron

Diocese: Lancaster
Year: Discernment Year
Born: 1973
Home parish: St Catherine, Penrith
Previously: Hydrometrist, Environment Agency

The first weak glimmer of a calling to the priesthood came when I was studying Ecology at Lancaster University. The feeling would always come back from time to time in subsequent years. My faith was important to me, but my relationship with God was far from perfect. Only after receiving forgiveness through the sacrament of confession, which I had neglected for over ten years, the call to serve God returned more strongly. So after a year of discernment I left my career with the Environment Agency and completed a year at the Lancaster Diocesan House of Formation in West Cumbria before coming here to Allen Hall.
